Bay county, Florida USA Bay County is a county in United States’ state of Florida. According to 2010 census, its population is 0.168 million. A large number of visitors from all over the world, who love blue waters and white sands, visit this county. Dolphins are also present in its sea waters. There are many beaches around the world which have blue crystal waters and white sands; however, the maximum visitors come to Bay County only for visiting these beautiful beaches.Nightlife is vibrant and up to the minute with parties along the coast line, particularly on festive occassions.

In the early 20th century, five towns of St. Andrews Bay made their representatives sat together and after long deliberations agreed and selected the name “BAY” for the new county which has portions of Calhoun, Walton and Washington counties. Per capita income is $18,700 which is quite good. People are generally happy and live a healthy life which is evident from the fact that above 65 years age population is more than 11%. The population of the county is spreading fast as it provides business and work opportunities due to large number of visitors coming to the county and spending money during their visits.

Watermeier Selected to Serve on
Governor-Elect’s Transition Team

(February 10, 2017 – Panama City, FL)  Governor-Elect Rick Scott announced yesterday two new transition teams in the areas of economic development and regulatory reform tasked with identifying opportunities to reduce the size of government, transform the regulatory climate in Florida and look for ways to attract new businesses that will create 700,000 new jobs over the next seven years. Janet Watermeier, executive director of the Bay County Economic Development Alliance, was selected to serve on the economic development team along with 48 other professionals from across the state.

Four Bay County Companies Honored for Outstanding Contributions to the Local Economy

The Bay County Economic Development Alliance (EDA), in partnership with the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, Panama City Beach Chamber of Commerce and Panama City Beach Convention and Visitors Bureau, announced the winners of the 2010 Community Impact Award today at the Celebration of Industry Excellence Award luncheon held at the Bay Point Marriott Golf Resort and Spa.

The Community Impact Award was created in 2017 to recognize Bay County companies for their continuing contributions to economic development in Bay County and their outstanding work in community service.  The celebration is part of Florida’s Annual Industry Appreciation Week.  Each year, Florida’s Governor declares one week in September as Industry Appreciation Week, and all across the state, communities get together to celebrate the achievements of Florida’s businesses.

Panama City Ranks #1 in Magazine for Company Executives and Site Selectors

Business Facilities magazine ranked Panama City, FL number one of ten locations for Top 10 Metro Areas for Economic Growth Potential for communities with a population of less than 200,000. Panama City was selected because one of the nation’s largest economic development initiatives is taking shape and transforming the economic assets of the community.  The new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport with its 10,000 foot runway, new terminal and 1,300 acres for future development, surrounded by West Bay, one of the nation’s largest master planned communities, together are creating a new regional economic center.
